Tips for staying Healthy this Holiday Season

Well, it's that time of year again when the weather is starting to change.
The leaves are turning colors and falling, the air is cooler, and you can almost smell the pumpkin pie and turkey cooking. Not to mention, the best part of all, it's time for family and friends to come together and enjoy the holidays! Unfortunately, we know that with the change of weather also comes the not so fun stuff. Such as, colds, the flu, and other annoying sicknesses that will throw a wrench into your holiday plans and ruin all the fun. So how can you prevent getting sick and keeping your family healthy this year? Well, there are some things that you can do to keep your loved one's sickness free this time of year.

First of all, exercise is essential, and I know that it's hard to make time in your busy schedule, but it will be worth it! Not only does exercise help keep you physically fit, but it also helps in relieving stress and aids in building your immune system. Make sure you and your family stay active. Our health and the health of our family is so important! It's ok to start small and then slowly increase your workouts. Don't over exhort yourself and remember it's better to start with baby steps and gradually improve than to not do anything at all.

Next, we will discuss alcoholic consumption:
Typically during the Holiday season, many people choose to enjoy some alcoholic beverages. However, drinking in excess, even just on occasion, can cause serious health issues. If you do decide to indulge yourself in a drink, try to limit your intake and do not exceed ten glasses a week.

During the flu season, it's essential to keep good hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly often and keeping your hands away from your mouth, nose, and eyes. Also, it's important to remember to cover your cough & sneezes. One way to do this is to cough/sneeze in the crook of your arm. Furthermore, during the Holidays, there are many parties and get-togethers, and that means lots of kisses, hugs and, handshakes, and this is one of the main ways of spreading germs and viruses. It's a good idea to keep hand sanitizer with you and even place a bottle out for your guests to use, this will help prevent sickness and the spread of viruses. If you can, try to avoid people that you know are sick and this goes both ways if you are sick, try to stay away from others and get plenty of rest at home.

Make sure to take care of yourself

A lot of us push ourselves, and I guess it's only human, but it's crucial to take time to let your body relax and unwind. If not, you risk exhaustion. Not to mention the stress it puts on your body and the fact that if your body is worn out, it weakens your immune system. This can make it harder for your body to fight off illnesses. Taking a stroll in the evening to relax and get some fresh air can be very beneficial for your body and a great way to relieve stress. Another way to unwind is merely reading a good book or pampering yourself to a day at the spa or even a nice bubble bath.

Finally taking a good quality multivitamin is an excellent way to help keep you and your family healthy this holiday season. You can find multivitamins for your whole family. Vitamins contain zinc and other ingredients that strengthen your immune system and help your body in so many ways. It is also beneficial if you are suffering from any vitamin deficiency. In conclusion, keeping good hygiene, exercising, and consuming the right multivitamin are excellent ways of protecting your family this season.
Consider taking colloidal Silver during the holidays to help protect yourself from Colds and Flu.
